November 9th, 2007So Riess mentioned to me that “you know it must be boring for people to read this at the rate it updates. Once a month.”
I kind of know what he means. I really like the amount of attention he puts into his artwork, but it frustrates both of us to see the story moving so slowly and when we started thinking about cutting corners with layout just to move the story along we decided that maybe this was the wrong way to go about it.
I say we, but Riess got my attention and said “we need to start over with a less detailed, more stylized approach that lets us move quicker and won’t kill my hand every time I try to get a page out.” And I agreed with him.
I anticipate that we’ll get at least a page a week out. We might even move to some kind of crazy MWF schedule, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. What I can say with some certainty is that by January 15th, we will have uploaded the new Prologue for Kir-Sia. It will be a proper introduction to the world before we plunge headlong into the events you’re already somewhat familiar with, but these will be retold with somewhat more detail, even if some visual detail is sacrificed.
We thought about preparing for this even as we were getting another page of the “old version” ready but the marketplace scene is kind of an important one and we don’t want to leave you hanging any more than we have to. To that end, we’re just going to go ahead and start over.
Thanks for sticking with us, and we’ll see you in January!
