Chapter 1 - Page 14
“Sorry, I spaced out there for a second.”
Fans of Tom Siddell’s Gunnerkrigg Court will recognize Shadow, Shadow2, or perhaps a Shadow coming out to say “Gwee.” It is nighttime after all, perhaps the (good) girls are asleep and he’s looking to stay entertained. We didn’t ask him.
I’m tempted to think that people who are not fans of Gunnerkrigg Court simply haven’t read it yet.
Anyway, thanks again to Tom for letting us borrow his shadow.

is that a sad shadow on the wall?

Is it just me, or are the shadows saying both “No” and “Listen”?
So I’ve got three reasons for Tassin to be stealing this dragon:
1) Her “boss” wants it and she really is just a thief
2) To keep her powers in check somehow either by blocking them or giving her greater control (I doubt it blocks her power because she says the dragon wasn’t a big help, but it could be that she doesn’t know how to use it or quite understand its powers. Of course, that leans towards giving her greater control versus inhibiting her).
3) You have to have an ancient relic of some sort in a good fantasy story, so why not a shiny dragon/lizard
I’m, hoping this won’t develop into some type of LOTR quest.
BTW, I did a google search earlier to find the site for someone else and ran upon some of the old forum threads leading up to the comic. Sounded interesting…

odd, the dragon’s pose seems to be changing
is it alive and flexible
or is it just metal and my spatial manipulation is messed up

Uh-oh, someone’s paying attention!
*distraction*

When it looks like the dragon is changing pose, you can blame the distortion of reality or something. Or my inability to quickly recreate the exact same shape from a different angle. You know, whichever you like better.

Well, yeah.
It looks a bit skewed comparing to the original pose.
But hey, Squid’s line was the awesome ^^

HAY GUYS!
Cool update, I especially like the nifty effect of the semi-transparent speech bubble to imply… er… wispering? interior monologue? dunno, but it looks really nice, don’t think I’ve seen that in use before.

Love the first panel, that’s pretty cool.
