Why didn’t he take the chance to escape along with her though? He could have, and even tail her just enough to get a rough bearing on where she’s headed.
Instead, he’s puzzled enough to stay and get caught.
Maybe an overhead panel showing troops approaching from all directions would have made it more clear that the character was surrounded. I can see why he wouldn’t try to follow Tassin though; if he doesn’t also have the old rope gun, it could be an unplesant drop out the window. Plus, the direction she takes off in initially might be great for escaping, but might not be anywhere close to the direction she needs to go to head back home (or wherever she is going). So jumping out of the window to get a general idea of her bearing might not be as useful as actually tracking her (which he should be able to do using the device he had for tracking the dragon amulet/ artifact).
