Roomates Homepage
Hi, welcome to our Roomates site. Roomates is a periodical downloadable vector graphic which can be rendered using most print rigs. But back in the day, it would have been called a ‘webcomic.’ And that’s the topic of our art - a golden age two centuries passed which is all but forgotten to us now, which we endeavor to recreate a slice of it for you to view.
At the turn of the 21st century still-abundant energy fuelled thriving cities and a global computer network that routed packets in direct transmission from server to server until they reached their destination, an arrangement called an ‘internet.’ It may seem less efficient than the Qnet we use with point-to-point addressed packet telecast, but the technology used then combined with the excessive power consumption made it possible to move tremendous amounts of data compared to our present system. Much of what you will see is based on information gleaned from old files we’ve recovered, and to that end we’ve taken our names from those of two people who lived and breathed in this world two centuries ago: Riess and Squid. Make a local copy of these files and execute them on your printing rig with the EZplotC package. We will add more of them from time to time. Please store our address locally, or as they used to say, ‘bookmark’ it.
